Vijit Chao Phraya 2024: A Cultural Celebration
Bangkok unveils the Vijit Chao Phraya 2024, a spectacular month-long event from November 16 to December 15. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), this cultural extravaganza will transform Bangkok’s riverfront with dazzling light displays. The event features laser shows, projection mapping, and Thai cultural performances, including fireworks, highlighting seven iconic landmarks across 14 locations as part of the “Thailand Winter Festivals.”
Illuminating Bangkok’s Landmarks
Each night, six shows will adorn landmarks such as the Rama VIII Bridge, Royal Navy Institute, and Wat Arun with dynamic light and sound displays. Wat Kalayanamitr offers laser shows, cultural performances, and fireworks on selected dates. Other highlights include projection mapping at Sunanthalai Building and vibrant displays at Memorial Bridge and Soi Lhong 1919, drawing locals and tourists to Bangkok’s vibrant riverfront.
Supporting Thailand’s Tourism Goals
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, emphasized the event’s contribution to Thailand’s tourism ambitions, aiming to generate 600 million Baht and enhance local tourism revenue. Vijit Chao Phraya 2024 showcases Thailand’s cultural richness, leveraging public-private partnerships to boost tourism. The free performances, held daily from 18:00 to 22:00, invite both residents and visitors to experience the magic along the Chao Phraya River.
