The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the launch of the highly anticipated ‘Monopoly: Bangkok Edition’ on November 2, 2024. The event will be held at Central World, with an exclusive after-party at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok. This special edition of Monopoly captures the vibrant essence of Bangkok, showcasing its rich cultural landmarks, bustling street markets, and luxury hotels. The TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, expressed her pride in the collaboration, stating it highlights the unique charm of the capital city, something she eagerly anticipates celebrating.
Unique Bangkok-Themed Tokens
Created in partnership with TAT by Winning Moves UK under Hasbro’s license, the game introduces six new tokens that embody the spirit of Bangkok. These include Mango Sticky Rice, capturing the sweet culinary essence, and Muay Thai Boxing Gloves, symbolizing the national sport’s strength. The Suitcase and Backpack tokens represent the adventurous spirit and allure for explorers, while the Moped token pays tribute to the city’s dynamic pace. Finally, the iconic Tuk-Tuk token honors the vibrant, colorful vehicles symbolic of Bangkok’s unique rides.
Unveiling and Availability
The game will be officially unveiled at Central World’s craftstudiO, where guests can be among the first to purchase Monopoly: Bangkok Edition and enjoy opportunities to meet Mr. Monopoly. Following the unveiling, an exclusive after-party will celebrate this significant launch. Monopoly: Bangkok Edition is the third in the Thailand series, following the Chiang Mai and Phuket editions. Available at Asia Books and their retail partners, this edition offers a unique twist on a classic game, perfectly capturing Bangkok’s essence.
