New York, 9 September 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), along with fashion designer Pipatchara, hosted ‘Unveiling Thailand’s Charm: A 2024 Showcase’ and ‘A Royal Gala Night’ at the Mandarin Oriental to celebrate New York Fashion Week. Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana attended the events, which were also graced by distinguished guests, media, and TAT partners. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, led the delegation warmly welcoming all attendees.
Showcasing Thai Culture and Sustainability
Ms. Thapanee highlighted Thailand’s essential experiences, showcasing facets of the kingdom’s charms like food, fashion, arts and crafts, culture, and scenery. The ‘5-Must Do’ pillars were emphasized: Must Taste, Try, Buy, Seek, and See, offering a culinary journey with organic chocolates, traditional Thai dances, and fashion exhibits. The showcases aimed to invite travelers to explore Thailand’s beauty and cultural experiences in new ways, paving the future of tourism.
Fashion and Sustainable Tourism Vision
‘A Royal Gala Night’ featured a fashion show curated by Pipatchara Kaeojinda, emphasizing sustainable fashion. Pipatchara shared new collections aiming to support local Thai communities, reflecting TAT’s commitment to eco-friendly tourism. Pipatchara’s works showcased transformation, turning waste into elegant fashion pieces. Ms. Thapanee concluded by sharing TAT’s strategies to attract 1.13 million US travelers in 2024, through various marketing activities and partnerships, including HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ season 3.
