The Thai government has launched an Assistance Scheme for Foreign Tourist Injury and Casualty, providing compensation to foreign tourists who experience accidents or losses during their visit to Thailand from January 1 to August 31, 2024.

The Thai government has launched an Assistance Scheme for Foreign Tourist Injury and Casualty to provide financial aid to foreign tourists affected by accidents or losses during their stay in Thailand.
Eligible tourists can receive compensation for incidents not resulting from their negligence, including offenses against the body and life, accidents, bodily harm or death due to theft, rape, and public endangerment.
The compensation details include coverage for death or dismemberment, permanent disability, eyesight loss, total disability preventing occupational duties, and medical and domestic transportation expenses within Thailand, with a deadline for submitting claims.

The scheme covers incidents such as bodily harm, theft, rape, and public endangerment, and offers compensation for medical expenses, domestic transportation, disability, and death. Tourists with existing insurance can request the difference up to specified limits, and claims must be submitted within 15 days of the incident.

The compensation details are as follows: up to 1,000,000 baht per person for death or dismemberment, 300,000 baht for permanent disability, eyesight loss, or total disability preventing any occupational duties, and up to 500,000 baht for medical and domestic transportation expenses within Thailand.
