The Tourism Authority of Thailand has made changes to its leadership positions, with five deputy governor roles being restructured to oversee different areas of tourism promotion and development.
Restructuring of Deputy Governor Positions
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the restructuring of five Deputy Governor positions, effective from 1 October 2023. Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya has been appointed as the Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, focusing on marketing and promotion of Thai tourism products and services in these regions. Ms. Somradee Chitchong is now the Deputy Governor for the Domestic Market, responsible for planning and executing domestic tourism campaigns. Mr. Nithee Seeprae has been appointed as the Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, overseeing strategic advertisement and public relations campaigns to maintain Thailand’s positive image as a tourist destination.
Promotions and New Appointments
As part of the restructuring, Mrs. Rujiras Chatchalermkit has been promoted to the position of Deputy Governor for Administration. Previously the Executive Director of the Marketing Services Department, she will now oversee administrative matters within the TAT. Mr. Teerasil Tapen has also been promoted to the position of Deputy Governor for Digitalisation, Research and Development, overseeing the Digital and Information Technology Department as well as Research and Development. These new appointments and promotions aim to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of TAT in promoting Thai tourism.
Continuation of Existing Positions
The announcement also confirmed that three Deputy Governors will remain in their existing positions. Mrs. Numfhon Boonyawat remains as the Deputy Governor for Policy and Planning, Mr. Siripakorn Cheawsamoot as the Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas, and Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit as the Deputy Governor of Tourism Products and Business. These individuals will continue to contribute to the growth and development of Thai tourism in their respective roles.
