Advocacy for Women Migrant Workers
International organisations within the UN and the EU joined together in Bangkok to advocate for the rights and opportunities of women migrant workers in ASEAN countries. Entitled “Safe Journey with Her: Ending Violence against Women for Safe and Fair Migration”, the event showcased the collaboration between the EU, ILO, UN Women, and UNODC. Held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, the event included an exhibition and panel discussion.
Progress and Challenges
Representatives from ILO and UN Women highlighted the advancements made by the “Safe and Fair” program, underscoring the ongoing necessity for further efforts. They stressed the importance of societal and institutional collaboration to address the barriers women migrant workers face in accessing vital assistance.
