Thai Stock Exchange started trading 3 new Depositary Receipts (DRs) referencing Singapore stocks
The new DRs being listed are part of the "Thailand-Singapore DR Linkage" project, a collaboration between the Stock Exchange of Thailand and Singapore aimed at developing DR products.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand has accepted the registration of 3 new foreign depositary receipts (DRs) referencing stocks listed on the Singapore Exchange: “DBS19”, “THAIBEV19” and “UOB19” issued by Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., which will begin trading on August 22.
The new DRs being listed are part of the “Thailand-Singapore DR Linkage” project, a collaboration between the Stock Exchange of Thailand and Singapore aimed at developing DR products. The new DRs to be listed are 3 stocks referencing the Singapore market as follows:
- “DBS19” Reference to stocks of DBS Group Holdings Ltd, a leading financial service provider in Asia. Its network covers 19 markets worldwide, with DBS Bank being the largest bank in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- “THAIBEV19” Reference to stocks of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, producer and distributor. Top food and drinks Doing business in 90 countries around the world
- “UOB19” Based on stocks of United Overseas Bank Limited, a leading financial service provider with 500 branches in 19 countries around the world.
The DRs started trading on the Stock Exchange of Thailand from August 22, 2024. Currently, there are 14 DRs listed on both the Thai and Singaporean stock exchanges under the project.
Of these, 8 are DRs that reference Thai stocks and are listed on the Singaporean Stock Exchange (reference stocks are ADVANC, AOT, CPALL, DELTA, GULF, KBANK, PTTEP, and SCC), and 9 are DRs that reference Singaporean stocks and are listed on the Thai Stock Exchange (including 3 new DRs to be listed this time, while the original 6 DRs referenced stocks are iShares MSCI India Climate Transition ETF, SIA, SINGTEL, SPDR Gold Shares ETF, ST Engineering, and VENTURE). DRs are instruments that give investors the opportunity to receive benefits similar to holding foreign securities. Investors can trade through a securities trading account in Thai baht.
