TAT Organizes “Ignite Tourism Thailand: TAT Skill Factory” Workshop
Bangkok, 10 June 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is hosting the “Ignite Tourism Thailand: TAT Skill Factory” workshop to enhance the skills of workers in the tourism sector. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s “Ignite Thailand” vision to promote Thailand as a leading tourism hub globally. Scheduled for 15-16 June 2024 at the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok, the event expects to draw 300 participants from various tourism-related sectors.
Expert-Led Sessions to Enhance Tourism Skills
The workshop will feature sessions by industry experts, such as Asst. Prof. Ake Pattaratanakun, Ph.D., and English teacher Gregory J. Raymond. Topics will cover future service perspectives, English proficiency, tourism safety management, and first aid. Organized by TAT in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Labour, and Tourism Council of Thailand, the event aims to foster professionalism and improve service standards in the industry.
Strategic Goals and Future Plans
Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Sermsak Pongpanit, emphasizes the importance of professionalism in enhancing tourist experiences. The Ministry aims for Thailand to achieve “Tourism Hub” status and plans to develop new attractions, routes, and community products sustainably. The Ministry of Labour’s involvement includes upgrading wages and enhancing skills to ensure a high-quality workforce. TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlights five strategies, including promoting unique activities and intra-regional travel to elevate Thailand as a premier destination.
