The SET ESG Professionals Forum 2023 was organized by the SET ESG Experts Pool, in collaboration with a network of sustainability experts. The forum aimed to bring together professionals committed to creating positive change under the concept of “Together for Change”.
It is a platform for fostering collaboration among ESG professionals, serving as the largest gathering in Thailand. Its main objective is to accelerate the development of individuals and enhance cooperation to effectively respond to crises and adapt to changes.
In order to achieve this, businesses must address five key challenges: managing a resilient supply chain (Resilient Value Chain), striving towards achieving Net Zero emissions, leveraging the opportunities presented by the Thailand Taxonomy to address greenwashing concerns, prioritizing robust ESG disclosure processes, and recognizing the pivotal role of the education sector in sustainable development.
‘Moving the Mountain for Sustainable Impact, Yes, We Can!’
In his keynote speech titled “Moving the Mountain for Sustainable Impact, Yes, We Can!”, Prof. (Special) Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Corporate Governance and Sustainability and director of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, emphasized the importance of sustainability in today’s world. He also highlighted the significance of having a support system to overcome obstacles.
Please follow these three principles:
1) Consider the dimensions of sustainability (ESG) which include the environment, society, and governance. These dimensions are interconnected and should not be viewed in isolation.
2) Take a broad perspective and consider the impact on both the organization and the public beyond the business value chain.
3) Break down biases and transcend the ego by learning and collaborating to empower oneself. Create changes that benefit the business and elevate the Thai capital market to meet international standards. Continuously strive to make positive and meaningful changes across all sectors.
