Pheu Thai Party Focusing on Soft Power and Digital Initiatives
This week’s meeting of the Pheu Thai Party highlighted the importance of soft power in international relations and digital initiatives. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the party’s leader, chaired the session for the first time, and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin also attended.
Thai Engagement with Soft Power Diplomacy
During the meeting, Paetongtarn addressed the MPs on the country’s engagement with soft power diplomacy, referencing discussions with South Korea, the United States, and United Nations representatives.
She outlined South Korea as a model for soft power and discussed educational exchanges with the US, highlighting the challenges facing Thai students.
Empowering Thai Culture and Leveraging Social Media
Paetongtarn, who leads a committee on “soft power,” aims to elevate Thai culture on the global stage through various sectors and urged MPs to leverage social media more effectively to communicate the party’s and government’s activities.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Srettha emphasized the significance of an upcoming announcement about the digital wallet scheme, encouraging promotion through personal social media channels to ensure widespread public happiness.
