SEC and SET organized a seminar on “Three Lines of Defense for Listed Companies” to promote good corporate governance. The event emphasized effective disclosure of information and enhancing investors’ confidence.
Bangkok, 24 September 2024 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in partnership with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), hosted a seminar titled “Three Lines of Defense for Listed Companies” as part of the Strengthening Good Governance of Securities Issuers Project. The event focused on enhancing corporate governance among listed companies by promoting effective information disclosure, aligned with guidelines aimed at fostering trust and confidence in the capital market. Held on 24 September 2024, the seminar attracted over 400 directors from listed companies and other stakeholders.
This seminar aimed to enhance awareness among listed companies about the significance of the Three Lines of Defense in promoting effective corporate governance. It also focused on improving understanding of collaborative efforts necessary for achieving efficient operations that can navigate challenges and restore investor confidence. Furthermore, the seminar conveyed expectations for proper information disclosure from listed companies, emphasizing the need to reflect both historical performance and a clear vision for future operations, incorporating insights from investors with direct experience in stock selection. The seminar was inaugurated with remarks from Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, SEC Secretary-General, and Mr. Asadej Kongsiri, SET President, in front of an audience exceeding 400 attendees.
