Thailand Government and Honda Discuss Electric Vehicle Production
The Thai government has recently held discussions with Honda executives regarding the support of electric vehicle production within the country. Toshio Kuwahara and Hideo Kawasaka, along with their team, met with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to discuss the potential collaboration.
Honda’s Commitment and Gratitude
During the meeting, Prime Minister Srettha expressed his gratitude to Japan for its long-standing support and emphasized the significant contributions made by Japanese companies, particularly Honda, to Thailand’s progress. Honda, in turn, expressed their commitment to continue their operations in Thailand and support the government’s clean energy and electric vehicle policies.
Promoting Collaboration and Mutual Benefits
The meeting also included discussions on Thai automotive industry policies, with the Prime Minister tasking relevant agencies to formulate measures that promote mutual benefits and cooperation throughout the supply chain. Srettha expressed confidence in achieving carbon neutrality goals and anticipates further discussions during his upcoming visit to Japan, benefiting both countries’ business communities.
