On Friday, China successfully launched its first reusable satellite, the Shijian-19, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. This mission, highlighted by state media, aims to advance seed science, microgravity research, and international collaboration in space.
The launch was facilitated by a Long March 2D rocket, which placed the satellite into orbit. The Shijian-19 is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and expedite the testing of new technologies while facilitating the practical application of research findings.
Additionally, the satellite carried payloads from five nations, including Thailand and Pakistan, underscoring China’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in space exploration. The mission also achieved technological breakthroughs in reusability, microgravity protection, and environmental testing.
