The Bank of Thailand is printing and issuing commemorative 100-baht banknotes for the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Proceeds will go to Royal charities.
Mr. Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, Governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) announced that the BOT was granted royal permission from His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua to print and issue the commemorative banknotes on the Auspicious Occasion of the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King, 28th July B.E. 2567 (2024) in gratitude for His Majesty the King’s graciousness.
The issuance allows the public to collect the banknotes to commemorate this significant occasion and to participate in expressing loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty the King.
The 100-baht commemorative banknotes will be issued in quantity of 10 million notes. The banknotes were designed in a vertical format to portray the prominence and elegance of His Majesty the King’s image and to distinguish from circulating banknotes. The banknotes were printed on polymer substrate with state-of-the-art technology to retain durability and incorporate counterfeit deterrent features.
The commemorative banknotes are legal tender and can be exchanged at 100 Baht each. The BOT also issues 2 million banknote display sleeves, available for 10 baht each. All the proceeds will be humbly presented to His Majesty the King for Royal charities at His discretion.
